Endocrinology and Diabetes In the Department of Pediatrics
artificial pancreas center

Pediatric Endocrinology at Stanford is committed to the development of an artificial pancreas. We are currently receiving grant support from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation to pursue this goal. We are working with engineers at Stanford, UC Santa Barbara, and the Rensselaer Institute to develop algorithms for the artificial pancreas. We are also conducting clinical trials with Dr. Peter Chase at the Barbara Davis Center in Colorado to prevent nocturnal hypoglycemia using an "artificial pancreas". more

Brian Feldman's Laboratory Site The aim of our laboratory is to elucidate the role of the endocrine system in both health and the development of diseases.

Welcome to the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Stanford University!

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Stanford has a long tradition of major contributions in both medical research and education, as well as a strong commitment to the quality clinical care of children. Eight physicians and three fellows evaluate and treat children with diabetes, growth disorders, precocious and delayed puberty, sex chromosome disorders (particularly Turner syndrome), abnormal bone development, and other hormonal problems. The work done by the division successfully combines the worlds of clinical investigation and clinical care to improve the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about who we are and what we are doing. The site will continue to be updated, so please check back often for recent additions.

FELLOWSHIPS- We have selected our fellow for July 2013. We will again use ERAS for our fellowship application process (fellowship start date 1 July 2014) BUT this process has NOT yet started. Please see the details at their site. We are part of the NRMP match for Pediatric Endocrinology.

If you would like to make an appointment to see a physician, please contact the endocrinology or diabetes clinic.

learn more about Clinical Studies

We are actively involved in many clinical studies that cover a broad range of endocrine disorders. Our division is one of two Northern California centers in a major national trial designed to identify factors predictive of insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, screen families with diabetes, and treat affected individuals before the development of the disease.
