Continuous Glucose Monitoring and Insulin Pump Data for Use in the Development of a Closed Loop Algorithm (DAD) |
Description |
Each subject will keep a food diary and exercise log for 2-4 days and repeat this every 1 to 2 weeks for a minimum of 2 weeks. Subjects can participate as few as 2 weeks and as long as 2 years. |
Eligibility |
You (or your child) are eligible to be screened if you have a clinical diagnosis of type 1 diabetes and use daily insulin therapy. There is no age limit for this study. You (or your child) must use a downloadable smart insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor. You also need to be able to read and speak English. |
Procedures |
At the enrollment visit, you will be asked to sign a consent form. Baseline data will be collected and you will be asked questions concerning your health history. We may ask you to wear a device to measure your physical activity. You will synchronize your pump, the continuous glucose monitor, and home glucose meter. You will be asked to keep logs of your food intake and exercise for 2 days while wearing the continuous glucose monitor. You will be asked to repeat this once every 1-2 weeks for a minimum of 2 weeks. |
